Bravo Systems requires all installers who will be handling our products in the field to be certified via our own certification program. In addition, we suggest that any foremen, managers, job-bosses or supervisors are also certified.

S. Bravo Systems, Inc. reserves the right to refuse certification to any individual or company at it’s sole discretion without reason. S. Bravo Systems, Inc. also reserves the right to void certifications if the individual(s) or companies that are certified are found to have submitted false information, if a competition of interest occurs or if evidence is found that supports negligence or deliberate deviation from the installation guidelines set forth in our installation manuals.

Frequently Asked Questions for Certifications:

Which test should I take and why?

  • Take the National Test if you are installing any SingleWall sumps or the FF-Series “Flange” entry fittings.
  • Take the DoubleWall Test if you primarily install in California, or if you are installing DoubleWall containment sumps in another state. This test includes the F-Series “Full Body” entry fittings.
  • Take the Retrofit Test if you are seeking certification to install our Retrofit-S line of split retrofit penetration fittings for SingleWall sumps, double-sided retrofits for DoubleWall sumps or retrofit tank sump covers.
  • Take the F-Series Test if you are not installing Bravo sumps, but will be installing either the F-Series “Full-Body” fittings or the FF-Series “Flange” fittings. This test only covers SingleWall entry fittings, but these two series are the core of our fitting product lines.
  • The DoubleWall test is referring to Double Walled pipe right? No. We refer to our sumps as either SingleWall or DoubleWall. Our fittings all support single or double-walled piping but are called Single or Double Wall models in reference to the type of sump wall they are meant to be installed to.

How long is each Certification for? Each certification expires 2 years from date of test submission.

How does the whole certification process work? All Bravo certifications are performed through an open-book test covered under choice installation instructions. You download the test package(s) of your choice, print out the materials inside and then study as you have time and answer the test questions as you go. It is not simply an aptitude test with a passing grade margin. This is an educational program designed to A) expose each individual to our products and educate them on the critical installation steps, techniques, things not to do, etc… and B) simulate a classroom training experience by correcting each individual on every question missed. If a tester misses too many questions, they will be asked to re-take the test and focus their study on an area that will increase their next score the most. No one completes Bravo Certification until they have answered every question correctly, and/or have received a full explanation on any questions answered incorrectly.

When do I have to pay? Don’t worry about payment. Get your test in ASAP. We will email/fax you proxy cards if you need them right away. We bill you later so that test payment will never delay your certification.

Pshhh! I have been installing for 20+ years. Do I really have to get “Bravo Certified?” Yes. Here’s why. We go above and beyond in product design and installation technique to solve problems that have been plaguing our customers for decades. If you disregard our specific instructions for our products and install them in a “conventional” way, you may end up with serious issues on your job site. We solve problems, but we solve almost all of them before you know it by avoiding problems altogether. We need your help to do this, but we are helping you in turn. Ultimately, we are providing the best solutions to our mutual customers. We are not obligated to make our products so easy to install that a new-hire with no field experience can install it. That is a way of the past and we are not of that mentality. While we strive to simplify all our products, their installation, tools, materials and testing protocols, we will not manufacture products that are meant only to be “installed easily”. For our products to achieve their long-term performance, our specific instructions must be followed. To enforce this, a Bravo Product installed by a non-certified individual or company is installed with no warranty. Your active certification must be on file for your entire job site (Bravo Products) to be warranted. We feel that this is not an unreasonable request. Get Certified.
